In humans, all fungal infections are infectious in nature, that is, caused by virulent fungi. They are all extracellular parasites. As a rule, it is a chronic disease that can affect the skin, nails and internal organs.

The onset of the disease can be of a different nature and depend on many factors. Infection occurs in the following way: microparticles in a person who is already sick die off and fall on the floor, carpets and various objects. These particles contain spores that remain alive for years, and if another person touches such an object, and the particle adheres to his dermis, the microorganism is activated.

After a particle of mycelium or microscopic spore of the fungus enters favorable conditions for them, in the cavity of the nails, germination and active reproduction begins. At the same time, toxic and allergenic products of their vital activity are released, which contribute to the development of local reactions in the form of inflammation and intoxication of the body.

The most common sites of infection are the nails and skin on the feet. The appearance of the fungus, as a rule, occurs in places of injury or damage to the nails or from infected skin.

Nail infection, most often, occurs through direct contact, from one person to another, or in a household way when visiting public places such as a swimming pool, sauna, gym. In addition, you can get infected if personal hygiene is not observed, when using untreated manicure devices. Excessive sweating of the skin is a provoking factor.

Having settled on the leg, the fungus can make life unbearable for its owner. Particularly upsetting is the infection that has settled on the toenails.

Tar soap from fungus on the feet

Tar soap is recognized by medicine. This product is an excellent natural antiseptic with disinfectant, antiparasitic and antibacterial properties. It contains only natural ingredients such as tar, palm oil, water, sodium salts of fatty acids and sodium chloride of coconut. It perfectly cleanses the skin and draws out toxins. And this is thanks to the tar.

The treatment of fungus with birch tar obtained by dry processing has been known for more than one century. In combination with soap, it promotes blood flow to the affected tissues and promotes regeneration, in addition, it kills fungal spores and inhibits the growth of bacteria. Various nail defects disappear much faster due to the fact that tar blocks their development.

The product helps to dry and eliminate wet areas around the toenails and speeds up the healing and healing process. In case of severe lesions, it prevents the development of infection of bacterial origin.

Tar is a product of dry processing of birch bark. It is an oily and thick liquid, with a specific pungent odor, black in color with a greenish-blue or bluish-purple tint. It contains substances such as phenol, xylene, toluene and various resins. This substance is practically insoluble in water, but it dissolves perfectly in alcohol and alkaline compounds.

Tar soap does not contain fragrances, dyes and chemicals. But if you still doubt the quality of a commercially produced product, you can cook it at home.

To prepare it you will need:

  • baby soap - 100 g;
  • base oil (jojoba, sea buckthorn or coconut) - 2 large spoons;
  • tar - 1 large spoon;
  • water - 100 ml.

Cooking method:

  • Grate baby soap and add water;
  • Warm up the resulting mixture in a bath until the components are completely dissolved;
  • Add the base oil and cool the mixture a little;
  • Then add tar, mix and pour into molds;
  • After 4-5 days, the product will harden and be ready for use.

Application methods

  1. Grate the bar and mix with a little water. Then add baking soda. You should get a gruel of medium density. Using a stiff brush, wash your feet, rubbing the mixture into the affected areas. Apply daily for a week.
  2. During a night's sleep, lather your toenails with a generous amount of soap, rub on top with salt and bandage. In the morning remove the bandage and rinse off. In combination with medications, the method has maximum efficiency.
  3. Dissolve two large spoons of the drug in two liters of warm water. Dip the lower limbs into the solution for 20-25 minutes. Over time, wipe the limbs without rinsing off the remaining solution. The solution softens the plate and prevents the spread of fungus.
  4. Steam the lower limbs and rub the affected areas with the product. Put on socks on top and leave until morning. In the morning, rinse with water and wipe dry. The course is at least 6 months.

Disadvantages of funds

One of the disadvantages of the product is its ability to dry the skin. It is not recommended for owners of sensitive and dry skin to use it. If, nevertheless, there is a need for its use, then after use, the skin should be treated with any moisturizer and emollient.

The second significant drawback is a very unpleasant pungent odor. But for the sake of health, you can be patient. Practice has shown that over time you get used to the smell.

Contraindications for use

Treating foot fungus with tar soap is mostly safe and effective. But there are situations when it is necessary to perform the treatment procedure with caution.

Contraindications are:

  • allergy, the agent is far from hypoallergenic;
  • thin and dry skin, with a tendency to irritation;
  • photodermatitis.

Tar detergent is a preparation purely for external use. If it gets inside, serious consequences should not be expected, but heartburn, digestive disorders, and stomach pains caused by irritating effects on the gastric mucosa are possible.

Once in the nail cavity, the infection immediately begins to multiply and grow. And despite the slowness of this process, the fungus confidently delaminates the plate and is able to penetrate into the bed. The color and texture of the nails changes from smooth and pinkish to flaky and covered with spots and stripes. And the nail ridges thicken, redden and swell due to the fungus that has arisen. Having arisen on any of the nails, the fungus will eventually completely destroy it and move to a healthy one.

This nail infection can infect everyone living in the same apartment. However, you do not need to diagnose yourself and prescribe treatment on your own, since the disease can be caused by several types of fungus at once.

Be sure to contact a specialist who, after the study and on the basis of the tests submitted, will be able to diagnose and prescribe adequate treatment for mycosis.

Perhaps, in addition to drug therapy, you will also be prescribed the use of tar soap for the treatment of toenails.

The treatment against the fungus can last quite a long time, but using a tar detergent in conjunction with medications can significantly shorten this period.
