Peeling of the skin - an excess of dead cells of the epidermis, which arise as a result of a violation of the processes of keratinization and rejection. The problem of peeling causes severe discomfort to the female breast, as it is accompanied by other unpleasant symptoms. And this is not to mention the fact that such a condition of the integument may indicate a serious dermatological problem. Let's take a look: why the skin under the breast flakes and how, in this case, you can help.

Causes of occurrence

Each symptom has its own basis and, if it appears, there are reasons for it. Therefore, the skin under the breast also does not peel off just like that, the reason for this may be banal chapping or burning (when the skin peels off after prolonged exposure to the sun), or there may be more serious problems.

If a woman noticed a peeling or flaky spot in the chest area, then she should think about her health condition. After all, this may indicate such problems:

  • Lack of moisture, due to which the skin becomes dry - in this case, special peeling can be observed not only under the mammary glands, but also over their entire surface;
  • Hormonal failure - often this situation affects the second part of the menstrual cycle, in addition to peeling, swelling of the breast itself can also be observed;
  • Adolescence - the skin flakes off during breast growth, as it gradually begins to stretch;
  • There is eczema - such a disease manifests itself in spots under, around and above the breast;
  • Allergic reaction - depending on the type of irritant and its contact with the mammary gland, peeling may appear as spots or a small rash;
  • Contact with a chemical irritant - here the irritation will affect a specific area of the skin where there was a touch;
  • Pregnancy - by the beginning of the second trimester, the mammary glands begin to gradually fill with milk, which causes the skin to stretch, and this can lead to peeling.

But peeling under the breast or on another nearby area of the skin may for other reasons and indicate more serious problems. These include:

  • Lichen (from pityriasis to lamellar);
  • Dry, cracked erythema;
  • Dominant ichthyosis, which manifests itself in the form of quadrangular scales (the disease is hereditary);
  • Ichthyosis X - linked;
  • Lupus erythematosus, which manifests itself in round spots, while such irritation will be observed not only with the chest, but will also affect the internal organs;
  • Pink lichen, where the scales take the form of a collar;
  • Psoriasis manifests itself as a silvery scaling not only on the mammary glands, but throughout the body;
  • Scarlet fever - specks are very small and are observed not only on the chest, but also on other parts of the body;
  • Seborrheic dermatitis;
  • Secondary type of syphilis;
  • Fungal infection;
  • Pityriasis versicolor;
  • Xerosis, which in the initial stages leads to ordinary dry skin, and only then turns into severe peeling.

Spots sometimes appear on the female breast. They come in different shapes and sizes, and the duration of their stay there is also different. If a spot appears that has not previously been observed, then there is a high probability of serious disturbances in the body. Here you need to immediately contact a dermatologist, consult with a mammologist and undergo the necessary examination.

Each disease manifests itself in a different way. Some in the early stages of development may not show any signs at all, and the clinical picture may appear when the disease reaches a serious stage and when the patient needs serious therapy. That is why it is so important to see a specialist on time!

It is impossible to independently determine the cause of peeling under the breast or above it, since different diseases have similar symptoms and additional examination is necessary (examination, tests, mammography, etc.). That is why it is so important that a woman visits a mammologist once every 1-2 years, because a specialist can see a problem with a breast where a woman does not attach much importance to it.

How to cure skin peeling?

To return the breasts to a normal appearance, you need to carry out a whole range of measures, which include a visit to the doctor.

But if for some reason you can't get to the hospital in the near future, then you can try to fix the problem with the mammary glands on your own:

  1. First of all, the skin is flaky due to insufficient moisture in the body. Therefore, this issue needs to be addressed. First, you need to eliminate the influence of factors that lead to dehydration of the skin, for example, using soap. It needs to be replaced with a special lotion or gel. And also drink enough water a day (not less than 2-2.5 liters).
  2. It is highly discouraged to use cosmetics containing alcohol or lanolin on the chest (and on other parts of the body). Such components dry out and provoke an allergic reaction, and then the skin will begin to peel off even more. For the mammary glands, always use only special cosmetics from well-known companies!
  3. For the treatment of peeling skin, you can use a cream with hydrocortisone - its content should not exceed 0.5%. Problem areas should be treated regularly: once a day for about 2 weeks, but do not delay such treatment, since hydrocortisone is a medicine (and hormonal!), And not cosmetics.
  4. Homemade masks are also good for dealing with this problem. To eliminate it, you need to make masks based on honey, vegetables, flax seeds. But, using homemade recipes, you need to be very careful, since despite all the naturalness and naturalness of the components, they can provoke allergies and then the trouble with the epidermis will only worsen.
  5. Proper nutrition is also an integral part of treatment. There is a special emphasis on foods that contain vitamin B - fresh fish, whole grain brown bread, eggs, milk, liver, green vegetables and fruits, nuts, brown rice.
  6. If the problem is a skin disorder, dexapanthenol-based drugs are usually prescribed. Very often, such drugs are prescribed for dermatological diseases, when a situation arises that the skin cannot recover on its own and have lost their protective functions.
  7. To solve the problem with the breast, vitamin complexes can be prescribed.

As you can see from all of the above, there are quite a few ways to solve the problem of peeling on the chest. But the effect can be achieved only if you know the exact reason for this condition. This means that in most cases you cannot do without a visit to the doctor and diagnostics!

Prophylaxis

If peeling has been identified in the area of the mammary glands, then they urgently need to be eliminated. In some cases, if this condition is caused by a serious problem, you will have to undergo a course of treatment. Its duration will depend on the type of ailment. In other cases, everything can be done simply by adjusting the diet and moisturizing masks.

But in order to avoid many problems with the mammary glands (including skin problems), you just need to remember about preventive measures:

  • Wear properly selected underwear, and this applies not only to the shape, but also to the material;
  • Visit a mammologist once a year, and a gynecologist every six months (some female problems first affect the genitals);
  • Cosmetics should be selected in accordance with the type of skin;
  • Make moisturizing masks for the décolleté area once a week;
  • Care cosmetics should be of high quality, specialized, without the content of an alcohol base, which dries the epidermis.

However, remember that at the slightest alarming symptoms associated with the breast, you should immediately contact a mammologist. Any disease is easier to cure at the initial stage than to deal with the disease itself and the complications that it entailed later!
