Phyto concentrates have a well-deserved reputation. Indeed, the composition of these products is dominated by natural ingredients that help in various areas of cosmetology and psychotherapy. The competent use of phyto essences helps to preserve the youth and beauty of the body, accelerates the cure of various diseases. How to make the use of aroma oils safe?
Rules for working with phyto essences
Council number 1. What is the correct way to add the product to the water for a healthy bath?
Aromatic oils are not soluble in water; you cannot pour them into the bath directly from the bottle. This can cause a chemical burn to the skin.
To avoid such a nuisance, dissolve them in an emulsifier of your choice:
- cream;
- kefir;
- milk;
- sour cream;
- honey.
Thus, add oil to water for "healthy" bathing only in a dissolved form.
If you want to soak in a fragrant bath, keep in mind that only one drop of oil is needed for 10 liters of water.
A bath with phytoconcentrate requires some additional manipulations. Before the bath, you should take a shower and cleanse the skin with soap or scrub so that the active substance of the oil better penetrates the skin and reaches the desired therapeutic concentration in the body. For the first time, take a bath with oils for no more than ten minutes at a temperature of 38 degrees. Taking a bath after drinking alcoholic beverages, with cancer, epilepsy, bleeding and damaged skin is contraindicated.
Council number 2. How to avoid getting burned during cosmetic procedures?
- Dilute with emulsifiers (butter, salt, honey, dairy products, cocoa, clay);
- Before use, be sure to read the instructions for the drug to find out what concentration is there. For a teaspoon of ordinary oil, you need to take up to five drops of phyto essence;
- Keep vials tightly sealed, out of the reach of children or pets.
Knowing these simple subtleties will help you avoid unpleasant burn symptoms.
Clinical signs of a burn
- Itching and burning at the site of skin contact with aromatic oil;
- Redness of the skin;
- Deterioration of health;
- The appearance of a rash on the skin.
Signs of allergy exist and must be distinguished from burn symptoms. These include:
- Shortness of breath, choking, difficulty breathing;
- Increased heart rate, a feeling of interruptions in the heart;
- Headache;
- Allergic rash, skin redness, itching;
- Dizziness, tinnitus.
If such symptoms appear, you have an individual intolerance to the newly used aroma oil.
Undiluted phytoconcentrate can be used. But there are special cases for this: spot application on herpetic vesicles, acne, boils or warts. But even in these situations, the first samples should be done diluted with the base oil in a 1 to 1 ratio.
What to do if you get an essential oil burn?
First, blot off the remnants of the product with a dry cloth, then rinse off the remnants of the product with running warm water for as long as possible to reduce the concentration of the substance and prevent its further absorption. Cool the affected area, not only ice is suitable for this, but also any frozen product from the freezer, previously wrapped in a clean bag.
The second is to apply a medicated ointment or cream.
Some people think that the best treatment for a burn is petroleum jelly or vegetable oil, but this is fundamentally wrong. Defects form on the damaged skin, on which microorganisms easily multiply, having received such a convenient nutrient medium for themselves as petroleum jelly.
As a result of this, a complication may arise - a layering of Tuesday infection, inflammation, suppuration, a rise in temperature and an effect that is exactly the opposite of what we wanted to achieve.
If you feel worse, a doctor's consultation is necessary.
If the drug gets into the eye, you need to be afraid of corneal burns. Rinse eye immediately with running water and see a doctor.
Folk remedies
Universal ointment "a la Rescuer". You can cook it yourself at home by collecting simple ingredients: olive or sunflower oil, beeswax, boiled chicken egg
How to cook:
- Pour a glass of olive oil into an enamel saucepan. Put on low heat;
- Add about thirty grams of beeswax, stir the contents of the saucepan until it is completely dissolved;
- Grate or chop half the boiled egg yolk with your hands, add to a saucepan;
- Without adding heat, bring the ointment to a boil. Let it boil for two minutes, then turn it off and remove from the burner;
- After a quarter of an hour, strain the mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth, pour into containers and put in the refrigerator after cooling.
It is better to pour the ointment into small jars, so it will be convenient to give it, take it on a hike or pack it in a suitcase for further travel.
This folk remedy is very effective for skin diseases and irritations. Helps in wound healing;
- "Panthenol" in the form of an ointment or spray. This ointment is so popular that, albeit conditionally, it belongs to folk remedies. Apply to the affected area of the skin three times a day, rubbing lightly, spreading the medicine over the surface of the body with massaging movements;
- Kalanchoe. The applied compress from the cut kalahnea leaves will relieve inflammation and swelling;
- Tea brewing. Another folk remedy that is easy to prepare at home has proven itself well. These are compresses made from strong tea leaves or grated potatoes. The course of treatment consists of 10 compresses for 10 minutes.
Burn prevention
Do not take phytoconcentrate orally, avoid contact with the mucous membranes of the eyes, especially the cornea.
Test for allergies. Dilute essential oil with base oil in a 1: 5 ratio and apply a drop to your wrist. In an hour or two, it will be possible to say with confidence whether you have an intolerance to the components or not. If there is a burning sensation, redness and itching of the marked area, the remedy should be abandoned in favor of another.
Don't skimp on your health, use a good quality product. In order to distinguish real aroma oil, think about whether quality often correlates with bright packaging and low cost. But in fact, you can check the quality by conducting a test on paper. Put some of the contents of the bottle on paper and remove it away from the documents you need. Check the result after a few days: the high-quality oil evaporates without leaving a trace. But a bad fake will "please" you with a bold spot on a sheet of paper.
Check the expiration date before use. Do not take an expired jar, even if the smell remains pleasant, the quality has become worse during this time. Using an old product will negatively affect the appearance of your skin. Think what is more important to you: saving a small amount and treating a burn or other troubles, or confidence in excellent quality and safety?
The prognosis for a burn is completely favorable when treatment is started on time.
Essential oils certainly have positive effects, but like any medicine, if used carelessly, they can be harmful. If you want to avoid burns, pay close attention to the safety of aromatic oils, then they will delight you with good results and excellent mood.
