Summer is always associated with rest, with good, warm weather, with the beach, that is, with a wonderful pastime. But you need to rest and bask in the sun wisely. Tanning is, of course, very good, the main thing is not to overdo it. After all, the consequences of excessive tanning are very, very unpleasant. Sunburn leads to redness and inflammation of the epidermis, blisters, burning are possible.

The body temperature rises, chills, headache are possible. And instead of good, you get one harm. How to prevent the occurrence of sunburn and what to do if you are still overtaken by this nuisance?

There are many remedies, both pharmaceutical and folk remedies for sunburn. Today we will talk about the use of oils in the treatment of these burns.

Chamomile essential oil

Its composition is unique:

  • Vitamin A - makes the skin silky, smooth;
  • Azulene - relieves inflammation;
  • Sesquiterpene carbohydrates - protect the epidermis from external negative environmental conditions;
  • Caprylic acid is a kind of barrier against bacteria, viruses, microbes;
  • Flavonoids - protect the epidermis from the destructive effects of ultraviolet radiation;
  • Organic acids - cleanse, moisturize the skin.

This product is able to restore health to your skin, relieve itching, redness. Effective for sunburn.

Application recipes:

  • A warm bath with the addition of 5-6 drops will help quickly and effectively relieve itching and reduce redness. It is recommended to take such a bath several times a day - until the feeling of heat disappears. Attention! If you have cardiovascular disease, it is better to use another method of treatment;
  • If a child burnt in the sun needs help, then the recipe will be slightly different - dissolve 3-4 drops of chamomile extract in a small amount of almond and only then add to the bathroom. You need to take a bath for fifteen to twenty minutes.

  • Soothing Gel for UV Damage: Take 30 ml of aloe vera gel, add 10 drops of lavender. Mix well. Smear the place of damage and around it;
  • Mix 40 ml of olive and 10 ml of lavender oils, 5 ml of iodine, 10 ml of acetic acid. Mix the ingredients thoroughly. It should be applied with light massaging movements to the affected areas. Apply until complete recovery;
  • Dissolve 12 drops of lavender extract in 1 tablespoon of boiled water at room temperature. Apply the mixture to a sterile gauze pad and apply to the affected area of the body for several hours. If blisters have already appeared, you can use the undiluted product;
  • The following recipe will instantly relieve and quickly repair damaged epithelium: Take 1 teaspoon of unsweetened yogurt, add 20 drops of lavender oil. Mix well and apply to damaged areas.

Olive oil for sunburn

It can be used both in pure form and in a mixture with other substances included in ointments, compresses. The product contains vitamins A, D, E, which help the regeneration processes of the skin. In addition, it is a good protective, emollient, regenerating agent.

When applied to the skin, it creates a film that reduces the evaporation of moisture from burned areas of the body. The film also protects against the penetration of microbes. The product is used to lubricate the damaged epithelium or apply a compress using it. Burned skin areas should be lubricated as often as possible. Do not use soap while washing - the protective film will be washed off.

Its composition is also suitable for obtaining a beautiful tan. The advantages of using it for this purpose include the following facts:

  • It is a natural product without any chemicals, no preservatives. Suitable even for delicate baby skin;
  • The presence of phospholipids and antioxidants has a beneficial effect on skin cells, promotes their rapid regeneration, prevents drying out and aging;
  • Sunburn, after applying it, lays down evenly, acquiring the desired shade;
  • It is an effective sunburn remedy with antibacterial and emollient properties. Thanks to these properties, even very severe sunburns heal quickly and painlessly.

Here are some recipes for using it:

  • Lotion for a safe tan. Take equal parts olive oil and cocoa. Combine until the cocoa is completely dissolved. This lotion is a good alternative to the pharmacy protective spray;
  • Lotion for an even tan. Mix equal parts olive oil and coconut oil. Everything is ready to be applied to your body;
  • Lotion for securing the tan. Take 1 cup of olive oil, juice of 1 lemon and 10 drops of iodine. Mix and apply to the skin for several days. Enjoy your tan all summer long;
  • The easiest way to make tanning lotion is to mix the oil in a 1: 1 ratio with clean, still water. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle (easier to use) and use.

There are many special cosmetics (creams, lotions) for safe tanning on the shelves of shops and pharmacies. But for all these tubes you will have to pay a lot of money and, in addition, no one guarantees the harmlessness of all these products with a high content of chemicals.

Coconut oil

Good tanning agent. Apply it evenly on your body before going to the beach. You will get a beautiful and even tan. In addition, it can be used against sunburn. Its cooling and softening effect will soothe your skin, while the thin film formed from its application will protect against germs.

If viewed from a cosmetic point of view, then it can be attributed to the group of lauric. This group is distinguished by its content of saturated fatty acids such as caprylic, stearic, palmitic. These acids are necessary for the human body, its epithelium. The product also includes vitamins: thiamine (B1), niacin (PP), and folic acid (E), ascorbic (C).

A coconut product, when exposed to the sun for a short time, protects the skin from harmful ultraviolet radiation. When applied, it forms an imperceptible thin film on the skin. It can be added to a special tanning cream.

The resulting sunburn will heal faster if you smear it with a coconut product. But such a procedure should not be carried out immediately, but only after a day has passed and only after the temperature at the site of the burn has dropped.

Recipe for use: take essential oils of chamomile and lavender - 1 ml each, 10 ml each of olive and coconut oil, 15 ml each of calendula flowers infused with oil and aloe. Mix everything and apply 1-2 times a day to the burns.

The causes of sunburn can vary. This is your hypersensitive epidermis, an incorrectly chosen or poor-quality protective agent. To minimize unwanted effects, use natural essential products in your skin care.
