Moisturizing for the scalp: eliminating dryness and flaking

How to moisturize your scalp? Dry scalp is no less unpleasant than dry skin of the face or body. The main cause of dryness is dehydration, and hydration is naturally necessary to eliminate the cause.

If everything is more or less clear with the body and face, I bought a good moisturizer and almost solved the problem, then what about the head? No, the guillotine is not our method! We will find more humane ways, and no less effective.

Causes of the problem

To begin with, let's figure out why, in fact, the skin dries, and what are the main signs of this scourge?

So, you have dry scalp if:

  1. Itching bothers you, i.e. the head itches;
  2. The dermis begins to peel off, and, as a result, fine dry dandruff appears;
  3. Hair becomes dull and lifeless;
  4. Your skin is tight.

Here are all the signs, or rather, on the head. But why is this happening? There is only one problem - dry skin, and there are a great many reasons.

Here are just a few of them:

  • All cosmetics, including shampoos and conditioners, contain parabens with antifungal and bactericidal properties. That's great, the naive reader will say. But there is little "wonderful" here, because they still tend to accumulate in the skin and lead to dryness and irritation;
  • Lauryl sulfate - an invariable companion of all shampoos of the middle price category, also does not help moisturize the epidermis, but dries it out, especially with frequent shampoos;
  • Hair dyes with ammonia are generally a time bomb.

To cope with this problem will help folk remedies used at home and bringing remarkable results. Dry scalp should be treated regularly. Moisturizing masks should be done 2-3 times a week during the treatment period and once a week thereafter, in order to prevent relapse.

Features of the preparation of cosmetics

Dryness of the epidermis is a consequence of improper hair care (overheating of hair with irons, hair dryers, curling irons, frequent washing of hair with aggressive shampoos).

To achieve the best results from the use of home cosmetics, it is advisable to take into account the following points during its preparation:

  1. Prepare masks just before use in order to keep the maximum amount of vitamins in them;
  2. Use only natural and fresh ingredients for homemade mixes;
  3. Stir the ingredients well during the preparation of the nutritional formulations to ensure they are homogeneous;
  4. Apply cosmetics to washed hair to cleanse the dermis of natural oil and increase the supply of nutrients.

Homemade masks have practically no contraindications for use, since they do not contain synthetic dyes and preservatives. But at the same time, cosmetologists do not recommend using products that contain ingredients that cause allergies. With hypersensitivity of the dermis, it is worth refusing to use mixtures containing honey, castor oil or onions.

Dry scalp is a dermatological problem that occurs against the background of a violation of the hydrolipid balance in the epidermis. For intensive moisturizing of the skin and restoring metabolic processes, cosmetologists recommend using homemade masks based on kefir.
