Oily skin and increased sebum secretion are the main causes of blackheads, or blackheads. The latter are sebaceous plugs, the tops of which darken from impurities of dust, dirt, particles of cosmetics and keratinized epidermis.

Reasons for the appearance of black dots

Most often, they are localized in the so-called T-zone - on the forehead, nose, chin, since most of the sebaceous glands are located here.

What causes the appearance of black dots:

  1. Improper care - insufficient cleansing. The skin should be cleansed twice a day, daily, morning and evening. Never go to bed with makeup. Once or twice a week, various masks or peels are applied;
  2. Unbalanced diet. Slagging of the body is primarily manifested on the skin. Abuse of coffee, fatty foods, sweets and alcohol negatively affects both the digestive tract and appearance. It is recommended to introduce more flax seeds, broccoli, spinach, red and orange fresh fruits into the diet;
  3. Changes in hormonal levels. These can be natural (eg, use, pregnancy) and pathological (with diseases of the endocrine system). Only treatment of the underlying ailment will help get rid of skin problems;
  4. Hyperfunction of the sebaceous glands;
  5. Hereditary predisposition.

How to get rid of black dots?

It is impossible to permanently eliminate this unpleasant phenomenon. Regular cleansing and tightening of pores is the only method that can be used regularly to keep the skin healthy. The procedures need to be done daily.

Periodically, for example, once every 3-4 weeks, you need to visit a beautician and carry out professional cleansing procedures.

How to remove blackheads at home: steam treatments

The main method of dealing with blackheads is cleaning. Regular removal will reduce their number, make the skin smoother and the complexion healthy. The most effective is mechanical reading (manual). Usually it is done by cosmetologists, but you can try it at home. The procedure must be approached with all seriousness, since without observing certain rules, the situation can be significantly worsened - inflammation (acne) will be added to comedones.

Before you start cleaning, you need to expand the pores so that the sebaceous plugs come off more easily, effortlessly, with light pressure.

Basic preparatory procedures:

  1. Steam baths. Boil water in a small saucepan, add a spoonful of some medicinal herb, for example, sage, chamomile or St. John's wort, or a drop of tea tree, lemon or eucalyptus essential oil. The face is pre-washed with the usual care products. They tilt their heads over a container of boiling water, cover themselves with a terry towel and breathe hot steam for about 15 minutes;
  2. The so-called hot masks. We are talking about ready-made formulations that act similarly to steam baths. For example, special steaming strips, "hot" scrubs;
  3. Bath, sauna, hot compresses. Under the influence of steam and water, the pores expand - the effect is the same as from steam baths. Decoctions of herbs, such as chamomile, are used as compresses. In the broth, moisten gauze folded in several layers, squeeze and apply on the face. The compress is changed after cooling.

How to remove blackheads correctly

After the pores have expanded, you can proceed directly to extrusion.

Beforehand, hands are thoroughly washed with soap, fingers are wrapped with a sterile gauze cloth and moistened in hydrogen peroxide or a special antiseptic.

You can only remove comedones that come off well by pressing with your fingers on both sides of them. If any failed to be removed, it is better to leave those until the next time, because excessive strengthening can lead to inflammation or scarring.

The cleansed skin is finally wiped with a salicylic acid solution, a tonic suitable for the skin type or a tightening extract.

How to remove blackheads with a plaster

A special plaster will help to effectively replace steam cleaning. It is glued to the back and wings of the nose, held for some time, and then abruptly removed. You can make a similar product yourself from milk and gelatin.

How to make a gelatin mask

About ½ cup of milk is heated to a warm state, gelatin is added to it and the mixture is sent to a water bath. The composition is stirred until the gelatin is completely dissolved. When the mixture has cooled to an acceptable temperature, it is applied to the face in a thick layer. Remove the mask about half an hour after application. Remove it starting from the edge of the chin. After removal, you need to wash and treat the skin with a moisturizer.

Squeeze cleaning can be done every 1 to 2 weeks. Frequent carrying out of such procedures is fraught with enlargement of pores and aggravation of the problem. Steam cleaning can and should be combined with other cleaning methods.

Lightening the face as a way to get rid of blackheads

You can cleanse pores and make comedones less noticeable using a specific method: pour a soapy solution (from ordinary baby soap and water) into a small container; add ½ tsp. soda and fine table salt; moisten a cotton pad in the mixture; easy to wipe the skin; after 3 minutes, rinse your face with water.

Use lemon juice to discolor blackheads. It must be diluted with water in equal proportions and wipe the face with the resulting solution once a day. Lemon juice can be replaced with ascorbic acid solution. Owners of very oily skin can use hydrogen peroxide solution, but you need to be careful - the product is very dry. It can be used for 2-3 weeks, and then take a break so as not to upset the water balance.

Treatment with cleansing masks

Simple masks should be done regularly between cleanings. Such procedures will help maintain the purity of the skin, as well as saturate it with useful substances and moisturize it.

Cleansing formulations to help fight comedones:

  1. Oatmeal. The flakes are crushed to a powder state, poured with warm milk, and allowed to swell. You should get a thick gruel. It is applied to problem areas and left for a few minutes. The oatmeal is washed off with plain water or a filtered herbal decoction, which is more preferable;
  2. Clay. Clay powder, which can be purchased at the pharmacy, is diluted with water to a creamy consistency and applied to the cheeks, forehead and other problem areas. Keep the mask until completely dry, then remove with a damp cotton pad;
  3. Honey is the best natural medicine for any skin type. It is spread over the face with patting movements until white lumps appear. Then they wash themselves;
  4. Rice. In the evening, steamed a spoonful of rice, in the morning it is drained of water. The resulting gruel is lubricated with problem areas. They wash their face after a quarter of an hour;
  5. Coriander and turmeric juice. The liquids are mixed in equal proportions. The resulting product is used to daily wipe areas of the face with blackheads.

Brightening formulations for dots on the face

When washing your face, you can use yogurt or kefir. These same products are used when making masks. They treat the face, wait until they dry, and then wash off.

Sour cream with salt is used in a similar way: 1 part of salt is taken for 2 parts of sour cream. The resulting product is used twice a week. It effectively replaces scrub.

A mask consisting of aloe juice, lemon and egg white will help lighten, cleanse the skin and stop inflammation. You will need one protein and 2 tablespoons of each of the juices. The resulting mass is divided into two parts. First, apply one, wait until it dries, then the second.

Tomato masks are worth doing in the summer. You just need to knead a juicy tomato, put the pulp on the skin and wait 5 minutes, then rinse.

Raw potatoes help fight comedones throughout the year. One tuber is chopped on a grater, spread on the face and left for about 10 minutes.

Masks can be done after steam procedures or separately. Steamed skin is more sensitive, so after cleaning it needs to be disinfected.

How to get rid of comedones on the face: shrink pores

The pores must not only be cleaned, but also narrowed so that they do not clog so much. After mechanical cleansing, you can apply several layers of beaten egg white to your face or treat it with a herbal ice cube.

The best home remedy is egg white. It can be used to both cleanse and tighten pores. The whites of one egg are beaten and applied generously to the skin. A paper napkin is laid on top, and another layer of protein on it. The layers should be as greasy as possible, especially on the cheeks and nose.

The composition is left to dry (about 30 minutes), and then abruptly torn off. The faster the napkin breaks off, the better the effect.

Periodically, you can use a lotion of cucumber juice with vodka to cleanse your face (ratio 2 to 1). As an antiseptic, a mixture of mineral water and calendula tincture (200 ml 1 tbsp) is best suited.
