When it comes to facial care, steaming is common. This manipulation can be done both in the salon and at home.

Cosmetology offers many different procedures, so you can steam your face in more than one way. What does that require?

What is the procedure for?

The first thing that steaming the face does is soften the skin on it.

The method opens pores, helps to remove toxic impurities, makeup particles, sebum from them.

Such a face lends itself much better to cleaning, absorbs nutrients from masks better, smoothes and "rests". Steam the face before reading at home, peeling, masks, procedures that remove blackheads, fight rashes, or just to relieve stress.

Before you steam your face at home, it should be properly prepared:

  • Water treatments with warm water. Use baby soap or face wash for your skin type.
  • Without wiping your face, do a little exfoliation at home with a light scrub.
  • Wipe your face, soothe it with lotion or water and lemon juice.

Now you can start the procedure.

How to properly steam your face at home?

There are several ways to steam your face at home. Which is more practical for you, see for yourself. The main thing is to follow the rules.

The most common methods are:

  • Steam bath. Probably the easiest way to prepare your face for any further cosmetic manipulations. Prepare a small bowl (bowl), a large towel, herbs or steam oils, and a pore-closure after steam. The most effective and readily available are chamomile flowers. They can be used for steam rooms for women with any skin type. Chamomile cleanses, moisturizes, helps eliminate acne, and acts as an anti-inflammatory topical medicine.

To make a chamomile steam room, add 2 tablespoons of plant flowers to 2 cups of water to boiling water. Next, let the product brew for half an hour. Then again heat to a boil, remove from the stove, bend over the container, cover with a towel and sit for about 10 minutes. During this time, your face will be softened and hydrated. After steaming, blot a cotton pad with lotion and soothe your skin. Now you can start cleaning or apply a mask.

  • Application. The decoctions are the same as in the previous case. Essential oils can be added to heighten the effect. But this is where a large cotton napkin comes in handy. We moisten it in a warm broth, then squeeze it slightly and put it on the face. The napkin will cool down, again in the broth and on the face. Repeat up to 4 times. Do not use hot broth, you may get burned.
  • A mask is the safest way to steam your skin. Suitable for preparing the face before deep cleansing. For women with sensitive skin, this mask is ideal. You can find a ready-made mask in the pharmacy, but you can easily prepare it at home. For example, we cook ordinary oatmeal without any additives in milk, make it thick. Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda with 2 tablespoons of the resulting porridge. We put it on the face for 15 to 20 minutes.

You can enhance the effect, for this the mask is covered with a paper napkin or towel, with holes for the nose, eyes and mouth. The mask cannot be used with other steaming methods.

When choosing a method that suits you at home, do not forget that any remedy or decoction can cause allergies, so if this is a mask, do a trial on your wrist. Do not do the procedure more often than every 10 days.

Steam the skin without letting it recover from the last time, you can ensure its dryness or even injure the epidermis. So if your skin is naturally dry, warm it up even less often. If you have any skin deformities, for example, irritation, a cut or vascular network, then you need to steam your face gently and do not do it often.

You cannot steam your face if you have asthma, hypertension, abscesses, problems with the cardiovascular system. Don't joke with this case. It is better to ask your doctor how you can replace the method or how to make it easier for your body.

Before steaming your face with a steam bath, wait the first 2 minutes for the main heat to go away, and then start the procedure. As oils, you can choose mint, eucalyptus, bergamot.

If you are doing a steaming to relieve stress, lavender, verbena, chamomile, lemon are suitable here as herbs, and bergamot, sandalwood as oils. For vivacity and a sense of relaxation, you can use herbs: lemon balm, mint, ginseng root; oils: citrus, cedar. You can also do a steam bath to sleep better and longer. Use herbs such as valerian, chamomile and lavender, patchouli or rose oils. If there are no herbs on hand at all, use tea. Plain, tea bags or packaged tea.

Steam baths also serve as an excellent home inhalation for the respiratory tract. If you have a stuffy nose or other manifestations of a cold, know that herbal inhalation is an excellent medicine. It frees the respiratory nasal passages from mucus, moisturizes and soothes the mucous membrane. And most importantly, viruses do not live long at this temperature.

Wash your hands before the procedure so as not to put anything on the skin, which is open to all microbes. Do not get carried away with any method - the mask or steam does not last more than 20 minutes. If the skin was normal before the procedure, and after that it became inflamed or reddened, consult a dermatologist.

A mask or any other kind of steaming method can dry out your skin great. Due to the sharp temperature drop, the face can be enriched with vascular networks.

Neither in the salons nor at home can this be avoided. Be careful and consult your doctor in case of contraindications.

It is necessary to steam the face not just according to the instructions, but also the actions "before" are performed without fail. Therefore, follow the rules and enjoy the effect.
