Parents always feel any problems of the child, especially when it comes to their health. The immune system of young children is still in the process of being "refined", so children often get sick. These diseases are most often of a cold nature.

That is, ARI, ARVI, sinusitis, bronchitis, tonsillitis. This list of diseases overtakes children during periods of cold weather, when in the fall there is a high probability of getting their feet wet, in case of extreme cold, frost - to overcool, and so on.

So the moment comes when the baby's immune system cannot cope with the load, and he gets sick. The main symptom of a cold is rhinitis - a runny nose. Before starting any treatment procedures, consult your pediatrician. He will prescribe drugs, doses and duration of treatment.

Rinofluimucil - a remedy for the common cold for children and adults

The basis is the "union" of acetylcysteine and tuaminoheptane. The first of the components has an expectorant and is often found in mucolytic cough suppressants, but with rhinitis it has the same effect - it dilutes phlegm, the second is a vasoconstrictor, relieves swelling.

Of the additional elements, Rinofluimucil contains: benzalkonium chloride, disodium edetate, sorbitol 70%, ethanol 96%, sodium hydroxide, mint flavor, purified water.

Rinofluimucil is prescribed for acute, vasomotor, chronic rhinitis, sinusitis.

Before use, it is necessary to "adjust" the bottle. Remove the cap from the bottle, remove the protective cap from the spray nozzle. Attach the nozzle to the bottle. Remove the cap from the nozzle. When using for the first time, double-click on the bottle to "activate" the medication.

Rinofluimucil is intended for intranasal use, that is, in the nose. Adults need to use 2 injections of the spray into each nostril three times a day. The dose for a child is equal to half of an adult's, also 3-4 times a day.

Since the drug has a vasoconstrictor effect, treatment should not exceed a week.

It is strictly undesirable to use during lactation or pregnant women, but the doctor can still prescribe it if the risk of harm to the baby is several times less than the expected help from the mother.

Cautions

Like all vasoconstrictor drugs, Rinofluimucil is not recommended to be taken for more than a week, since rhinitis medication may develop in the subsequent periods of use. Under these circumstances, swelling and nasal congestion will return.

With such a disease as thyrotoxicosis - excessive secretion of hormones by the thyroid gland, as well as with hypertension, angle-closure glaucoma, it is prohibited to take the drug.

Rinofluimucil is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to any of the components. For patients under 2 years of age, the drug is not prescribed. It is forbidden to take simultaneously with MAO and TCA inhibitors, as there is a risk of a systemic reaction. Rinofluimucil may reduce the effectiveness of drugs for hypertension.

With therapy with this medication, side effects are possible, which manifest themselves in the form of a rapid heartbeat, increased dryness of the nasal mucosa. Rarely, but there may be problems with urination, allergies and addiction to the drug.

In case of an overdose, the following neurological symptoms appear: trembling fingers, increased blood pressure, anxiety. Treatment is performed according to the symptoms.

The shelf life of the drug after opening at 16-25 degrees is 20 days. From the moment of release and before opening, the bottle is stored for 2, 5 years.

Drug analogs

Rinofluimucil has several analogs, some of which can be prescribed to a child.

  1. Nazik for children. The active ingredient is xylometazoline. Xylometazoline has a vasoconstrictor effect, relieves nasopharyngeal edema. Dexpanthenol in Nazik has a healing effect. Available in spray form. It is indicated for acute rhinitis or for damage to the membrane to restore it. Patients under 2 years of age should not be taken. Contraindicated in patients undergoing therapy for high blood pressure.
  2. Pinosol. Disinfectant, restorative agent. Active ingredients: oil of pine, mint, eucalyptus, thymol, azulene. Available as drops. Designed for the treatment of rhinitis in all its manifestations. Children under 1 year of age are not prescribed. Take 2 drops in both nasal passages several times, but not more than 5 per day. If you are allergic to oils, you cannot take the drug in order to avoid allergic reactions.
  3. Eucasept. Plant-based preparation: fir oil, eucalyptus oil, mint. Has antimicrobial effect. It is discharged for acute and chronic rhinitis. Contraindicated in allergic rhinitis, the presence of high sensitivity to the components of the drug, as well as many drugs (analogues), it is not prescribed for children under 2 years of age.

Recommendations

It is very difficult for a child under one year old to choose a drug, since many medicines have toxic substances that the baby may not be able to handle. The drug Rinofluimucil can only be taken by a child from 2 full years of age.

Do not think that from one year nothing really changes and you can neglect the instruction - a year or two.

This is a huge difference! The smaller the child, the less developed his immune system. Exposing the baby to danger by treating him with drugs with heavy components is certainly not worth it.

Vasoconstrictors are often addictive if the duration of treatment is longer than recommended.

If the recommendations are violated, edema may develop, which will mean that your medication no longer cures you, but leads to rhinitis medicamentosa. In this case, the vasoconstrictor should be discontinued immediately and a doctor should be consulted.
